Barbados’ thriving cruise industry received a further boost on Thursday when the Disney Cruise Line's mega cruise ship Disney Fantasy made its inaugural call on the Bridgetown Port carrying approximately 3500 passengers and 1500 crew.
Disney Fantasy is the sister ship to Disney Dream both of which were designed for guests of all ages with experiences such as exploring the universes of Star Wars and Marvel, to shopping at unique onboard venues, a virtual Disney World experience on the sea.

Barbados Port Inc. (BPI) has proudly announced its involvement in the restoration of the historic East Point Lighthouse in St. Philip. The restoration project, to be performed by Hinds Transport Services Ltd. and overseen by the BPI, commenced last month marked by an official ceremony and the initial removal of tree branches which have penetrated the building over time.

The Barbados Port Inc. (BPI) has officially greeted the Captain and crew of German cruise ship Mein Schiff 4 at the Bridgetown Port last Friday during an inaugural ceremony onboard the vessel. It was the second time in a week that the BPI had welcomed a cruise ship on its maiden voyage; French cruise ship Le Soléal also docked at the Port in the same week, bringing hundreds of cruise ship passengers to our shores.

Barbados Port Inc. (BPI) today announced that the renovations to the Lewis/Wickham Boardwalk is completed, and that boat users and pedestrians can safely resume use of the waterway and walkway between the Chamberlain Lift Bridge and the traffic lights by Chefette Restaurant.

The Barbados Port Inc. (BPI) yesterday welcomed French cruise ship Le Soléal to the Bridgetown Port for the first time at an official inaugural ceremony. The seven-deck ship, renowned for its expedition-style cruises, arrived in Barbados from Venezuela and has now set sail for Martinique; its last stop on its 17-day cruise.
Bridgetown – The Barbados Port Inc. (BPI) today hosted a Commissioning Ceremony for eight specially selected murals by Barbadian artists to be painted on the doors of the homeport terminal at Shed 3. The project coincides with this year’s 50th Anniversary of Independence and is designed to enhance the overall experience of cruise ship passengers as they officially enter and exit the island.
